Crawl, walk, run steps to HIV ministry

Perhaps God has prompted you to care for those with HIV and you're wondering where to start. This month, we begin a new series of features offering several ways you can implement the C.H.U.R.C.H. strategy.

For each of the six ways churches can get engaged in HIV ministry, I'd like to suggest three levels of involvement: crawl, walk, run. Perhaps you can only "crawl" in some areas. That's OK! The important thing is to just get moving and let our Father guide your steps in ways he has determined.

I'm thankful you've allowed us to journey with you in this important ministry.

Ways to care for and support the sick

Kay Warren challenges young adults at Urbana 06

The first time she met a homeless woman dying of AIDS, Kay Warren realized that nothing in her Christianity had prepared her to face that situation. Now she’s convinced that in times like that, she can make the invisible God visible to suffering people. At Urbana 06, Warren told 22,000 young adults that, by caring for people with HIV, they can demonstrate that God cares as well. View Kay's message >> | AIDS discussed at Urbana >>

S.T.O.P., not S.L.O.W., is key to ending HIV/AIDS, Warren says

Only the church has the authority to completely eradicate AIDS, said Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church and an increasingly prominent AIDS activist, during the 2006 Urbana Student Missions Conference, Dec. 27-31 in St. Louis. Read more >>
